I’m writing this as a non-technical person that has never used any amount of code in creating a website. You may have seen a great hosting discount and want to get a site up and running, but is cheaper hosting good? Is WordPress hosting better?

You could create a site built by something other than WordPress (i.e. Weebly, Joomla, etc.).
So if you’re here to figure out what you should do with your first website, here’s the bottom line:
You can sign up with Bluehost or WordPress.com to host your website. There’s no real advantage of one or the other in terms of cost or performance. But don’t get tricked into thinking that you need to sign up for WordPress.com in order to have a WordPress website.
